    Please see "A Call for Discernment" by going to http://www.justinpeters.org. Justin is an evangelist and in addition to expository preaching, also holds seminars on the "Word of Faith" movement. He has cerebral palsy and concurs with the apostle Paul, "My grace is sufficient for thee."

    To God be the glory!

    The healings, and salvations speak for themselves, if it wasn't of God, these things wouldn't be happening. If it was fake, there wouldn't be the MANY THOUSANDS of testimonies. God moves, there are signs and wonders, there is praise displayed praise for God, God is being glorified.

    Don't forget that satan can masquerade as an angel of light which means he can perform healings too. The question is do the healings last, or do they fade after a few days/weeks? Don't just focus on the few good things coming out the revival, but take into account ALL that is going on there and the things that are definately NOT of God (focus on angels for example). Just like when you were first dating you only saw the good in the other person and not the bad, don't just look at the good, but pay attention to the bad. If this were truely a move of God, then the focus would be on Him (and not sidetracked by Emma). Check out http://charismamag.com/fireinmybones/

    Worship of angels, of course, is not ok... but, angelic encounters are highly biblical.

    I knew a minister from the 'healing movement' (oral roberts, etc.), who said that Jim Jones, had a remarkable healing ministry of cancers, and that they used to collect cancers that would fall off, or come out of those he prayed for in medically safe containers. He had witnessed this himself. Well you know what happened to Jim Jones and Guyana, but certainly the wackiness started as the result of how one handled a remarkable healing gift. So I say use caution. I remember the hype with the Brownsville revival, and I visited twice. I'm an ex 30 yr charismaniac, who still speaks in tongues. Why are all these revivals in fla? I would go down there and read from the local papers about the lifestyles these famous ministers quickly got based on notoriety, and asked myself WWJD. And it wasn't what was happening down there in Browsville. The neighborhood around that Brownsville sanctuary was mostly black, and yet the 'revival' was mostly white. What about white people makes them so gullible and easily controllable? Maybe we should step back and examine that as well!!!!!

    I find it sadly interesting that so many people online are making comments like the one above. Sure, we should use discernment... without question, but why is it when there are miracles that some automatically assume it's demonic?

    Is the devil stronger than God? Does God not work miracles? Shouldn't we expect miracles, signs, wonders, angelic encounters, etc. to be a normal part of a believer's life?

    It saddens me how many blindly believe things without fully and completely understanding all that is going on at these events as well as not understanding the times we live in. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

    In a 2003 article Todd wrote, "So when I need a financial breakthrough I don't just pray and ask God for my financial breakthrough. I go into intercession and become a partner with the angels by petitioning the Father for the angels that are assigned to getting me money: "Father, give me the angels in heaven right now that are assigned to get me money and wealth. And let those angels be released on my behalf. Let them go into the four corners of the earth and gather me money."

    He is asking angels to intercede for him and not Jesus. Jesus is nowhere to be found in his comment. God may have started out working through Todd, but at some point I believe that it was hijacked by the enemy.

    It is our responsibility to be like the Bereans (Acts 17:11) and to examine the Scriptures every day to see if what is taught is True or not, especially as the final days quickly draw near. 2 Thessalonians 2:3a "Don't let anyone deceive you in any way.."

    I was a backslider who God restored 2 years ago. During the process the Holy Spirit told me about this healing and miracle revival that was coming. Everything in this move of God is what God told me would happen. This is only the beginning of it wait till it come in it's fullness. M. B. Osborne VA

    Is this truely a move of God? Check out the following two and a half minute YouTube video of Todd Bentley himself and decide for yourself..

    Todd Bentley is certainly extreme... and many wouldn't do things the same way he does... but, God is moving in an undeniable way through him. I think it's sad that the person who made that video is attacking Todd... taking so much time and energy to do so... highlighting the controversial behavior (controversial, not unbiblical)... but doesn't rejoice at the healings! This is tragic!

    I'm not a Todd Bentley expert, but I've yet to hear Todd renounce one of the absolutes of scripture. On the contrary, I've witnessed more good fruit through him than many other people combined. People are leaving those meetings more in love with Jesus than they ever thought possible.

    As Followers of Christ we are warned in the Scriptures that the devil "masquerades as an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14), and that in the last days "the coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders" (2 Thessalonians 2:9). "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible." (Matthew 24:24)

    Agreed that not all signs, wonders, and miracles are Satan's, but Scripture is quite clear that there WILL BE "great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect" so as the elect, we need to be extra extra cautious and take great care that we are NOT deceived. Signs and miracles are GREAT, and I fully believe that they do exist today, but we need to look at the ENTIRE picture and not just pick and choose what we want to pay attention to. We need to pay attention to EVERYTHING that Todd Bentley has said/done in the past and is saying/doing now to decide whether this revival is or isn't from the Lord.

    Not only do we need to be careful that we are not deceived, but we also need to be careful that we are not deceiving others by talking positively about things we shouldn't because we will be held accountable for those we lead astray.

    I believe that the aforementioned video it proof enough that this revival isn't of and from the Lord. There are numerous other video clips as well as personal accounts and prophetic writings that show that this revival is NOT from the Lord.

    John I challenge you to show me scriptural references where Holy Spirit had someone kick people in the face, hit someone so hard that a tooth comes out, choke someone, or tackle someone. I don't recall Jesus ever having to become physical with someone. I do remember Him telling demons to come out of people or gentle touching people to heal them (so His Voice and a soft touch, NOT His fist).

    We have to be careful, certainly. However, to make the final call that something is not of God is a very dangerous thing to do. There are reputable men and women of God, scholars, leaders, who love Jesus with passion, who are not at all declaring this to be demonic in origin.

    Many agree that God is moving in great power. To attribute a move of God to the devil is such a serious thing... I'd be shaking with the fear of God with tears in my eyes if I felt compelled to say or write such a thing.

    You won't find scripture forbid the activities that Todd involved himself in. You just can't find it. Remember how Smith Wigglesworth punched someone in the gut?

    I am familiar with Bob Jones and Rick Joyner having witnessed their "prophecy" styles firsthand. Bob Jones was discredited from his infamous "Kansas City Prophets" for having women "stand naked before the Lord" in his private office. Any church or 'movement' he joins will be devastated within a year. Rick Joyner wrote a book in the 80's saying he would pay $10 thousand to anyone who could show him the rapture in the Bible. He now has selective amnesia when confronted with that. I was part of a church that they (Morningstar) tried to take over, but we withstood them. Their worship services are like Pagan Rituals. Anything these two are endorsing is not a move of God. Watch Todd Bentley's service for yourself- they're on You Tube. Todd Bentley teaches heresy and false doctrine. The Bible is very clear about Angel's roles in the affairs of men and the Church and they do not impart annointings or healings. Teeth filling? The whole thing is witchcraft. I say this not only having seen it first hand but also because I am a 30+ years student of the Bible. If you think this "move" is of God, you need to read 2 Thessolonians 2:10-12. However, I know this scripture is true and therefore most people will not receive it. The truth will set you free only if you accept it. You will be deceived and damned if you don't, regardless how innocent you think trafficking with demons to be. One other small note, there is the MILLIONS of dollars being bilked out of these gulllible people. Of course, that is incidental.

    1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
    1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

    Be very careful. To attribute something of God to the devil, to witchcraft, is an extremely serious issue. Don't embrace the very strategy of Satan by accusing the brethren.

    Good responses, John. The beauty of the internet is how quickly it has allowed this revival to spread to the four corners of the earth. The down side is all the free access for people to opinionate and make judgments about things they haven't experienced for themselves. To those of us who have experienced first hand how precious it is when God visits His people, it is deeply grievous and terribly sad. Like the apostle John wrote, "he came to his own, but his own did not recieve him."

    I spent 5 days in Lakeland going deeper with Jesus and being awed by His tender mercy and impressed by the diligent work of the leadership to steward a move of God in a mature and open way, while not quenching the Spirit. Simple trust in our Father leads to true discnerment, while a hyper-analytical judging spirit is the currency of the Pharisees. How many of them made judgements about Jesus based on second hand knowledge, and ended up crucifying Him for it? Your cautions about the blasphemy of the Spirit are very wise.

    My advice to those who would pick apart and criticize things is to first go, not to "judge" or "discern" what is going on, but because they are hungry and thirsty for God. If they spend any length of time there in a humble spirit seeking God's wisdom, I think that they will see that this is a genuine move of God, and be able to look past the human and fleshly stuff (which is there, of course--anyone out there completely dead to their flesh yet? Anyone out there have the corner on "perfectly correct" theology?)

    I applaud Todd's courage and faith to endure the scrutiny of his life by taking a stand for this move. I'm sure he could be tempted to pull back--even though he's a radical Holy Ghost biker wild man, he has a tender heart and can be hurt just like anyone else. Bravo to Bill Johnson and others for standing with him as true friends and partners in the gospel.

    Father, please forgive us your church for getting so far away from what you are about in the earth that we don't recognize you when you come to us. Amen.
